If you sit still enough they will come!

Winter is upon us(even though you would never guess it here in California) and with that it means new migrating birds! Now I haven’t yet managed to take any great pictures of the incoming birds(mostly because I honestly don’t have the patience to sit still for hours) I did have some luck with some birds this week:

Mourning Dove. These birds are usually very skittish but for once they actually decided to come up close today!

Photo101 Glass

Today’s topic was glass and I had a lot of fun with it. I almost always photograph in color as I do a lot of nature photograpy but I decided to do this challenge in black&white as I didn’t really like the color of my porch and I think the shadows pop out much more in black&white.

This was on my porch where we get a lot of sun light. It was fun to play around with the glasses and see the shadows change depending on what you do with the wine glasses.

I’m not a huge fan of the background in this pic but my light was dissappearing and I didn’t have time to change it around!

Cheers!

Photo101 catch up!

Last week was crazy busy but I thought I should catch up a bit. I don’t have a photo for all the assignments as some were harder for me to figure out so I though I’d rather just sit those out.

Photo101 day 4

Today’s assignment was bliss and for once I knew exactly what I wanted to capture!

Fall is my favorite season and it also means that it is finally cold enough here to take this guy out on hikes. Although we didn’t take a hike today, we did go on a nice little walk where I snapped this photo. Hope you guys like it!

Photo101 day 3

Here’s my picture for day three of Photography 101.

California har been in a serious drought this year so there hasn’t been much water available. Our little fountain has been a great source for the birds, deer and squirrels as they have all been desperate for water.

And since I missed yesterday’s topic due to being super busy here is a street pic I took in London last summer as compensation 😉
